The museum of labour glory "Azovmash"

The museum of history and labour glory of PJSC "Azovmash" is located in the foyer of the Palace of Culture "Iskra" and has its own history. As early as 1967 when the Palace of Culture was commissioned by the Order of the Director of ZhZTM - V.F.Karpov the exhibition hall was organized in one of the rooms of the new building. There were exhibited mock-up models of machinery and equipment manufactured at “Tyazhmash”. Over the years a special hall was allotted for the museum which was filled with photographs and documentary materials telling about the plant and its people.

In the 1990s under the conditions of the general crisis the museum was forgotten as both "Azovmash" and PC "Iskra" were having a really tough time.

In 2000 A.V.Savchuk took over the leadership of "Azovmash". In 2005 it was decided to establish a new factory museum on his initiative. In 2006 Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Tarasova was invited from Mariupol local history museum to become the director of the factory museum and start the work.

In a short time she managed to collect the exhibit items and prepare the first stage of the museum to be opened in September 2006. In 2008 to the 50th anniversary of the plant the exposition was significantly supplemented with new exhibits and equipment. The museum has taken a new lease of life. Now its exhibition comprises more than 500 exhibits – the mock-up models of the machinery and equipment, the awards of the enterprise and its employees, photos and documents. They vividly illustrate the glorious history of the flagship of our domestic machine building engineering - PJSC "Azovmash".
